Hello readers! As a physician who works in brain injury, I've dedicated the last fifteen years of my life to the care of brain injured patients. This novel, partially inspired by the timeless classic Jane Eyre, reimagines the wife (Victoria) as having a brain injury instead of madness. Victoria suffers from something called Broca's aphasia, which is an injury to the frontal lobe of the dominant hemisphere of the brain and makes it difficult for her to speak.
