Great buildings of Prague

The film studios - a community of actors, production and technical staff and an excellent technical background with a famous open horizon in the immediate vicinity of the studios - added new luster and style to the new district.
The publication accompanies the reader not only with the realization of Havel's construction plans, but also with the history of Barrandov and Barrandov filmmaking, from the pen of the great expert in film history Pavel Jiras and the development of the whole district to this day. In addition to the famous Barrandov villas, the book will take the reader through Barrandov's studios and studios, a lookout restaurant with famous terraces, the Trilobite bar by Max Urban and Vladimír Grégr, the Pod Habrovou colony and other buildings. And also apartment buildings for film employees, the Nový Barrandov housing estate and, in addition, the local abstract and figurative sculptures by Vladimír Preclík, Michal Gabriel, Karel Nepraš and others, which were among the best that were created in the Czech environment at the end of the 1980s.
The book concludes with the most recent building in 2018, the Sky Barrandov Residence, in which the world-famous Czech architect Eva Jiřičná also took part.
Experienced editors Petr Krajči and Patrik Líbal acquired 8 authors for cooperation, including leading experts in the history of architecture such as Professor Vladimír Šlapeta and architect Zdeněk Lukeš. Together with a number of unique historical images, the current photographic documentation was created by the experienced architecture photographer Jiří Podrazil.
