whiskyfake13 октября 2024I finally had the chance to take a closer look at Pauline Baynes' illustrations, and they are truly impressive. The balance of whimsy and realism, the way she communicates through color, and the subtle medieval influence all stand out beautifully.
As for the poem itself, it didn't leave a lasting impact on me. Perhaps it's best read right after finishing The Lord of the Rings — in that case, it might evoke a much more emotional response.
