Наряду с введением в язык программирования Maple представлена библиотека программных средств (более 615) для современной системы компьютерной алгебры Maple релизов 6-10. Исходные тексты средств библиотеки доступны для просмотра и вводят читателя как в эффективную, так и в нестандартную технику программирования в среде пакета Maple. Для специалистов, преподавателей, аспирантов и студентов в области естествознания, которые используют Maple релизов 6-10 в Windows-среде.

In the book we present some of results of the work we have done in theory of classical Cellular Automata (CA) and their appendices during 1969–2013 in truth with considerable pauses. These results at present form essential constituent of the CA problems. In particular, we have studied such problems as the nonconstructability problem in CA, decomposition of global transition functions in CA, extremal constructive possibilities, complexity of finite configurations and global transition functions, parallel formal grammars along with languages defined by CA, the modelling problem in the classical CA, computer simulation of CA, certain applied aspects of CA, etc. At present, the CA problems is a rather well developed independent sphere of the mathematical cybernetics which has considerable field of numerous appendices. At that, with the equal right the CA problems can be considered as a component of such fields as discrete mathematics, the discrete parallel dynamic systems, complex systems and some others. In our opinion the book will present an indubitable interest for students, post–graduates and persons working for doctor's degree of the appropriate faculties of universities.

В книге представлены некоторые наши результаты, относящиеся к теории классических клеточных автоматов (КА). В настоящее время эти результаты составляют довольно существенную составляющую общей теории клеточных автоматов. В частности, мы изучали такие проблемы, как проблема неконструируемости конфигураций в КА, экстремальные конструктивные возможности, проблема сложности конечных конфигураций и глобальных функций перехода в КА, параллельные формальные грамматики и языки, определенные КА, моделирование в клеточных автоматах, декомпозиция глобальных функций перехода в КА и т.д. В настоящее время проблематика КА представляет собой достаточно хорошо развитый независимый раздел математической кибернетики, имеющий весьма широкую область различных приложений. Более того, с равным правом КА–проблематику можно рассматривать в качестве компоненты таких областей, как дискретные параллельные динамические системы, дискретная математика, кибернетика, сложные системы наряду с рядом других. По нашему мнению, настоящая книга представит определенный интерес для студентов, аспирантов и всех тех лиц, которые работают в рамках получения научной степени доктора наук соответствующих факультетов университетов, прежде всего естественно–научного уровня наряду с преподавателями по таким предметам, как теория автоматов, информатика, математическое и физическое моделирование, дискретная математика, кибернетика, теоретическая биология, компьютерная техника и многие другие. Следует отметить, что в последнее время классические клеточные автоматы являются одной из наиболее перспективных модельных сред для различных высоко–параллельных дискретных процессов, объектов и явлений, которые допускают обратимую динамику, что достаточно важно, в первую очередь, с физической точки зрения.

Software presented in the book contains a number of useful and effective receptions of the procedural and functional programming in Mathematica that extend the system software and allow sometimes much more efficiently and easily to program the software for various purposes. Among them there are means that are of interest from the point of view of including of their or their analogs in Mathematica, at the same time they use approaches, rather useful in programming of various applications. In addition, it must be kept in mind that the classification of the presented tools by their appointment in a certain measure has a rather conditional character because these tools can be crossed substantially among themselves by the functionality.
The freeware package MathToolBox containing the above means is attached to the present book. The MathToolBox not only contains a number of useful procedures and functions, but can serve as a rather useful collection of programming examples using both standard and non–standard techniques of functional–procedural programming.
The book is oriented on a wide enough circle of the users from computer mathematics systems, researchers, teachers and students of universities for courses of computer science, physics, mathematics, and a lot of other natural disciplines. The book will be of interest also to the specialists of industry and technology which use the computer mathematics systems in own professional activity. At last, the book is a rather useful handbook with fruitful methods on the procedural and functional programming in the Mathematica system.

Книга состоит из 10 глав и затрагивает довольно обширный материал по программной среде пакетов Maple и Mathematica в контексте сравнения их возможностей модульного программирования. Между тем, ограниченные объем и сроки подготовки настоящей книги не позволили нам изложить рассматриваемые вопросы с одинаковой степенью полноты. Поэтому, порой, имеет место освещение лишь сути дела без обстоятельного обсуждения отдельных ньюансов и рассмотрения смежных (часто интересных и весьма
важных самих по себе) вопросов. Основные положения данной книги сопровождаются соответствующими иллюстративными примерами, проработку которых мы считаем необходимой для лучшего усвоения предлагаемого материала. Более того, примеры, приведенные в книге, могут быть использованы в качестве довольно полезных средств при разработке собственных приложений в среде пакетов Maple и/или Mathematica. Для удобства их использования именно в этом качестве предоставляется возможность
загрузки содержащих их библиотеки для Maple и пакета для Mathematica.
