Bette Pesetsky is the author of five novels and two collections of short stories. She has also had stories appear in The Paris Review, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Ontario Review. All of her books were listed as "notable books" by The New York Times in their respective years, and Midnight Sweets was also listed by the Los Angeles Times as one of the five best novels of 1987. A graduate of the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she received a National Endowment for the Arts writing fellowship, and has taught at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, UC Irvine, Wichita University, St. Lawrence University, and the University of Miami.
