After stumbling into Poison Ivy's apartment to find her and Catwoman conspiring, Darshan is let down from his botanic bondage to help with Ivy's plan to recover her research.

After sneaking into the Botanical Gardens an alarm is triggered but instead of running Ivy feels a presence through The Green asking for her help. Tracing the voice they find bodies transformed into wood and a surveillance room with all of the stolen research. The voice called out to Ivy through a refrigerator door which revealed Victor Lee and walls of failed attempts at Ivy's sporelings with one young sporeling cowering behind a grate.

Enraged Ivy flies at Lee and begins to tear the lab apart until Darshan can convince her to leave and formulate a larger, better plan.

Following the reports of Dr Grimley's death the GCPD launch an investigation, first questioning Darshan then requesting Pamela who was seeing to her newly spawned "children". Leaving them to go to the Botanical Gardens the police are only called off after a phone call from the Mayor to release her from interrogation.

Sensing a disturbance in The Green, Pamela ramps up security in her apartment but is disturbed by Winston at her apartment doors. She lets him up under the guise of reciprocating his feelings but instead she kills him and feeds his body to her plants. Soon after, Dashan also knocks upon her door and the two go for coffee whilst planning to break into the now-restricted gardens. Needing to leave, Pamela makes a swift exit leaving behind her glasses.

Inside her apartment she calls for Catwoman to help her but as she arrives, so too does Darshan having been tangled up by Ivy's sentry plants.

Following the death of Doctor Cruz Ivy remarks upon the transient nature of life and death as she grows her plant-animal hybrid and her colleague is killed.

Inside the Botanical Gardens the scientists are all profiled by the GCPD as potential suspects and Ivy is saved from her unstable alibi by co-worker Winston who fictitiously claims the two of them went to see a film together. However, the whole issue does not sit well with Isley and she swears retribution when her "children" are spawned.

A week after the death Isley and Doctor Bapna are assisting in the creation of a memorial for the late Doctor Cruz but two feral Pit Bull dogs jump out at the duo. After dissuading them Ivy seeks out their negligent owner and kills him.

Soon after Ivy and Victor - the head administrator - have a conversation about the stolen research but Victor changes the conversion to how he has discovered Ivy's secret but will not report her, just maintain a wary eye around her.

Outside the office Doctor Bapna confesses to Ivy that he was not the last person to see Cruz alive as he was auditioning for "Gotham's Got Talent", a reality singing show, which is his true passion. Ivy's motion sensors disturb the conversation by indicating that her plant is preparing to spawn and she leaves to see through the "birth" successfully spawning two human-plant babies.

Inside the office Bapna goes to see Doctor Grimley but instead discovers him laid on the floor, drained like Doctor Cruz had been.

As Dr. Pamela Isley, she joins the prestigious plant sciences department at Gotham Botanical Gardens, but things quickly get complicated when a fellow scientist is murdered and it looks like the work of Ivy.
