    The experiment was laid out in a split plot design with three dates of transplanting (D1, D2 and D3) as main plot treatment, three genotypes (V1, V2 and V3) and two nitrogen levels (N1 and N2) as sub-plot treatment with three replications. The results obtained during the track of study, discovered that the weather had played, significant role in deciding the yield of rice. However, the weather variables affected the crop growth, development and yield differently in different phenophases during its growth period. The results, regarding different phenophases as well as yield attributing characters of rice genotypes as influenced by different treatments.

    the DSSAT model is a reliable tool for simulation of the wheat and urd cropping system. During the sequential simulation the model performance was good. During vegetative phase of wheat, the temperature and ET were low while during reproductive phase, temperature and ETo were high and relative humidity was low in both years i.e., 2007 and 2008. The weather conditions werefavorable for good growth and development of wheat. Hence, it is concluded that low temperature and low ET during vegetative phase and high temperature, more ET and low relative humidity are favourable for reproductive phase of wheat. Amongst the different empirical methods the Stefan and Stewart method was found most appropriate than others.

    The northern region of India comprising the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh had been explored for the insect pests belonging to the order Lepidoptera through extensive and intensive field surveys. These field surveys had been conducted over different seasons on all the vegetable crop groups in the entire region so as to being out the species, population and ecological diversity. The field surveys had covered 109 localities in the entire region and throughout the length and breadth, over 49 districts in the seven states. The faunistic surveys had revealed that there are 49 species, and their diversity is enormous not only in terms of species but also their populations. It is also evident that the results of the study will be applicable not only to the northern region of India but also the whole of India and also other parts of the world. All species had been reoriented towards the salient taxonomic details along with descriptions. The study comprises of 1277 illustrations. The unique feature of the study is the integration of taxonomic aspects with field biology and ecology details.

    Osteoarthritis of knee can be due to many causes, including congenital deformities, trauma, rheumatoid arthritis and wear and tear. Age, obesity and sex also predispose the condition. The purpose of the present study was to find the prevalence of osteoarthritis of knee in Kanpur. In this cohort study, the case record of physiotherapy OPD of Saaii College of Medical Science and Technology, Kanpur were analyzed from the period of January 2008 to December 2010. A total of 35 different varieties of cases attained during that period. The conclusion of this study reveals that prevalence of knee osteoarthritis is higher than any other conditions in Kanpur. Average age of patient with osteoarthritis was 52.32 (±5.54), where female were found more susceptible for this condition.

    Flexibility of an individual is determines his/her fitness level. It is a matter of prime importance among athletes. Commonly the flexibility of hamstring is being measured to evaluate an individual’s overall flexibility. There are so many tests to measure hamstring flexibility such as goniometry, straight leg raise and sit and reach test etc. Sit and reach test is the common and reliable test. The purpose the present study was to compare the flexibility between adult male and female in Kanpur population. A total of 120 collegiate subjects aged between 18-25 years divided into 60 each of two groups A and B consists of male and female respectively were randomly selected. All participants were allowed to perform sit and reach test. Statistical insignificant difference found between male’s and female’s flexibility (t=0.129). Pearson correlation was also found statistical insignificant between flexibility with age, height and weight among both males and females. Therefore, the findings of present study shows there is no differences in flexibility between young adult male and female.
