In New York, a young musician, Soledad, has just released a new gramophone album, which a small Presbyterian group, led by the very media-friendly reverend Fox, has taken vehement exception to. They don't put up with the singer's push for Women's rights over abortion. Assaulted during a show, she takes refuge at her agent's home, that of Fourmille Gratule.
The latter will accompany Soledad and her group in an animated tour, which will take them south to New Orleans and the truth...

Auf den ersten Blick schon, allein bei näherem Hinsehen ist doch so einiges anders: Nicht nur, dass es keinen Strom oder Autos gibt, dafür aber jede Menge Fabeltiere. Im Hintergrund dieses bizarren Paralleluniversums halten zudem die Preshauns die Fäden in der Hand, scheinbar putzige, etwas pedantische Wesen, die Eichhörnchen ähneln, mit einer wohlbegründeten Vorliebe für Tee.

In dieser Spiegelwelt namens Ekhö soll sich Ludmilla also von nun an zurechtfinden. Dumm nur, dass sie sich im Flugzeug an ihrem Sitznachbarn Juri festgekrallt hatte, der ihr nun auf Schritt und Tritt folgen muss. Und noch dümmer, dass sie gelegentlich von den ruhelosen Geistern kürzlich Verstorbener besessen wird, die erst dann von ihr ablassen, wenn ihr ungeklärter Todesfall gelöst ist. Dabei ist ihr Juri dann allerdings doch bisweilen von Nutzen. Wo er schon mal da ist...
