CRASH!, the pre-Cronenberg 1971 short J.G. Ballard film adaptation

Before Canadian director David Cronenberg made his own 1996 movie adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s controversial 1973 novel Crash, another film had already been crafted from Ballard’s material. The book itself was written as an expansion on portions from Ballard’s previous collection The Atrocity Exhibition (1970), and it is the content from that initial work which provided the basis for the 1971 short film Crash!, directed by Harley Cokeliss (known then as Harley Cokliss) and starring Ballard himself.
