5 Relaxing reading, if you feel nostalgic for the Potterverse

Morrigan Crow was finally accepted into the Wunderous Society. But her life hasn't become a marvelous fairy-tale. She has to conceal that she is a Wundersmith from everyone but her Unit 919 of fellow scholars. Wunsoc is afraid of her and doesn't want to let her study anything. She was sent to study so-called Mundane arts but in reality she is only listening to the dull lectures of the ancient tortoisewun about missteps, blunders, fiascoes, monstrosities, and devastations performed by the previous Wundersmiths.

Morrigan is feeling lonely and outcast again. Her Unit members are afraid of her, except for Hawthorne and new ally Cadence. Other students don't know her knack, and they are frightened why Elders do not disclose it. Jupiter is busy investing mysterious disappearings of the Wundsoc members, so he is barely supporting Morrigans struggles.

Meanwhile, appears Ezra Squall, who is happy to help Morrigan learn how to call Wunder and corrupt her...

The second book is much more dynamic than the first one. The narration is even, without slowing down of the action. The author generously adds “flavor sweeteners” to the narrative. The main places of action are: Hotel Deucalion, the Museum of Stolen Moments, the Ghastly market, the Wunsoc school grounds. These places are a concentration of something mysterious, mysterious and alluring, even without the adding of magic.

Nevermore series books differ from the Potter world in the greater brutality of the events that take place (the first Potter books were more childish) and the chronic injustice faced by Wunsoc students. There are no characters like Dumbledore – absolutely wise, cunny but fair and kind. The characters of teachers have different pleasant and unpleasant character traits, which favorably brings them to life.

My favorite characters are Scholar Mistresses Dulcinea Dearborn Maris Murgatroyd and their unexpected interaction so to say, don't wanna drop spoilers here.

So, all in all, the book is great for a fast relaxing reading, especially if you feel nostalgic for the Potterverse.
