This short novel of dark fantasy is perfect for escaping the routine and reality. Sometimes it is terrifying and makes you feel really disgusting, sometimes it opens for you cozy subtile world of three wise goddesses. Anyway, it grasps your attention and just entertains.

There is nothing breathtaking about the plot or characters. What was new for me is that the powerful positive heroes gently took care about chthonic creatures (who were making the attempt to change and destroy the being) and tried to avoid the annihilation of such.

The main feature and joy about the narrative is the description of the Ocean. It is sort of metaphysical space of spirit mentality referred to Buddhist atman. Reading about this entity was equal to meditation, to my mind.

Actually, the book is not sophisticated enough for grown-ups and contains too much horror for children. But, in fact, I enjoyed reading it in original and firmly recommend it for people whose English level is between Pre-Intermediate and Advanced.

You will find useful words regarding house implements and distinguish the tones of darkness and decay, as well as will have fun reading rather simple text without second hands of a translator.
