5 The mysterious soul of a barbarian

Belletristics is something of higher level comparing to dry historic facts. It provokes a lot of emotions. But there is one disadvantage: it's fictional story, although historic figures are used in it.

It's very interesting if British author can show that Mongol character. If he is able to describe Mongolian customs and traditions, create the dialogues like authentic ones. As for me it wasn't XIII's century but XVII's (the same noble knights) with Mongolian steppe as the decoration. And the style of book is completely modern.

What was the secret of Temujin?
1) His birth in the family of Khan and due to this book he was pretender №2 to become the Khan
2) The upbringing of the father, it shouldn't be underestimated
3) His family, his brothers, they are the foundation of his future rise
4) Ruthlessness before those who committed crime. The murder of Begter is one of the most controversial moments in the first book but this moment showed unprecedented cold-blooded confidence of what is right and what is wrong
5) Ambition since childhood
6) He became the person to overcome the troubles and to take care of the whole family at the age of 12
7) Börte.
8) Vision of the future and idea to unite the people under his command.

The most striking moment was when Temujin was captured and stood in front of Eeluk and showed the pride of the future Conquerer of Asia, the son of the land of Mongolia in spite of being alive due to mere luck. He was the flesh of that land - what could harm him?
