4 Clones are not just expendable resource

This is a really good book.
We have both action (it's been a long time since I've read about special forces operations) and character's feelings, how they see themselves on this war.
There is a funny moment, when Padawan Etain senses clone Darman as 10-year old child due to their accelerated growth. Top-notch soldiers bred for war may act as children in some aspects of civilian life unknown for them.
Interesting comparison of clone soldiers and daywings has been shown to us: both would have short and glorious life. Clones don't argue with that.
We see that clone soldiers have military expertise worthy of natural-born Mandalorian warrior.
Character of Padawan Etain is progressing during the book. At first we see a broken and desperate girl, who has lost her Jedi Master, doesn't know where to go and what to do.
Then we see how commando Darman helps her to become better commander.
There is no black and white heroes and villians. Such distinction doesn't exist on the real war either.
By the end of the book Padawan understands that clones are not just expendable resources - they are humans beings just like her.
I may be preconceived because I've played Star Wars: Republic Commando videogame back in the days and I've liked it.
