These days everyone’s got a weird name; it must be a bloody nightmare for teachers. But back in the early 1980s all the boys were called Michael or Christopher and the girls were Amanda or Sarah. ‘Jenson’ was impossibly exotic for Somerset so they settled either on JB, which has stuck, or ‘Jason’, which was probably just a mishearing now I come to think about it.
