Secret History: A Passionate Tale of the Times of Theodora

Eastern Roman Empire 544 AD. Artabanes of Armenia has made peace with the Empire but begins his silent war with Emperor Justinian.

When Artabanes meets his niece, Prejecta, they fall in love as they prepare to travel to Africa to secure the city of Carthage. When Artabanes defends both Carthage and Constantinople, he is made Consul and he earns the right to ask for the hand of Prejecta.

Yet Justinian and his wife, the notorius courtesan, Theodora, disapprove of this match. They send Prejecta away to be married to a foreign prince. What will each one of them do to be together?
