О премии

Премия Лорда Рутвена вручается Ассамблеей Лорда Рутвена и группой ученых, специализирующихся на литературе о вампирах.

Премией отмечаются лучшие произведения о вампирах, опубликованные в году, предшествующем году вручения премии. Награда вручается за лучшую художественную литературу о вампирах и лучшую научную работу по изучению вампирской фигуры в культуре и литературе.

Премия имеет две основные номинации: «Художественная проза» и «Публицистика». Номинация «Постановка / Популярная культура»* появилась в 2003 году и посвящена фильмам о вампирах. В 1997 и 2008 годах в премии фигурировали разовые номинации «Специальная награда» и «Особое упоминание» соотвественно.

Награждение проводится ежегодно в марте на Международной фантастической конференции (International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts (ICFA)) в искусстве в штате Флорида.

Stories and characters such as Dracula, Carmilla and even Draculaura from Monster High have been made more "real" through their depictions in narratives produced in and across different platforms.
