О премии

Премия Дэвида Геммела была создана в дань памяти английского писателя Дэвида Геммела , скончавшегося в 2006 году, и предназначена для писателей, работающих в духе его поздних произведений, т. е. в стиле Героического фэнтези.

Полная формулировка такова: «Work written in the 'spirit' of the late, great David Gemmell, a true Master of Heroic Fantasy». В конкурсе могут принимать участие только произведения, опубликованные на английском языке.

Премия закрыта в 2019 году.

История
