О премии

Детская книжная премия имени Джейн Аддамс (Jane Addams Children's Book Award) - американская награда за лучшую детскую книгу, которая продвигает дело мира и социального равенства.

Награды вручаются ежегодно с 1953 года.
Ранее Премию совместно курировали Международная женская Лига за мир и свободу (WILPF) и Ассоциация мира Джейн Аддамс, теперь один куратор - Ассоциация мира Джейн Аддамс.

Первоначально Премия присуждалась одной книге в год без номинаций. С 1993 года учреждена номинация "Иллюстрированная книга".
В настоящее время Премия присуждается двум книгам в год: одной для детей старшего возраста и одной для детей младшего возраста.
До 2003 года Премия вручалась в сентябре, в честь Дня рождения Джейн Аддамс, а с 2003 года вручается в апреле, в честь Дня образования WILPF.

Тожественная церемония вручения Премии проходит в городе Нью-Йорке.

В 1959 году премия не вручалась.
