О премии

Премия «Магнолия» - американская литературная награда за лучшие детские книги, выбранные юными читателями штата Миссисипи.

Премия была учреждена в 2015 году с целью знакомства детей и подростков штата Миссисипи с современной литературой и привития у них любви к чтению.

На конкурс премии допускается любой жанр или формат (глава или книга с картинками), в том числе и нехудожественная литература. Предлагаемые книги должны быть опубликованы в течение последних двух лет.

Все дети штат имеют право участвовать в голосовании и выдвижении книг.

Победителей выбирают сами читатели. Каждый год детям и подросткам штата Миссисипи предлагается проголосовать за свои любимые книги в четырех возрастных категориях. Свои голоса дети передают через учителей, библиотекарей или других взрослых на авторизованный участок для голосования. Голосование проводится в феврале, а победители объявляются каждый апрель на Фестивале детской книги Фэй Б. Кайглер в Университете Южного Миссисипи.
