Swimming in the clear blue waters of the Rainbow Hotel, Daniel Benchimol finds a waterproof camera, belonging to Moira, a Mozambican artist, famous for a series of photos depicting her own dreams – a woman he, Daniel, dreams about repeatedly. U pismima koja Carlos Fradique Mendes šalje raznim osobama ispreda se neobična priča koja se odvija krajem 19. stoljeća između Angole i Brazila, u vrijeme kad se već uvelike javljaju anarhistički i abolicionistički pokreti, gdje je "Kreolska nacija" "vjerojatno posljednji brod koji trguje crnim robljem u Povijesti".
