Released to coincide with the fandom's rewatch of the episode "Rose", Davies' new prequel short story was released at 2pm on the 26th of March, 2020 - just five hours short of the episode's fifteenth anniversary.

Originally planned for release in a 2013 issue of Doctor Who Magazine for the show's 50th anniversary, this idea was shelved when a minisode prequel contradicted the story's events. Fans reconciled this quirk of continuity in a number of ways immediately after the story's release, positing that this story could represent false memories created by the Doctor's temporal maniuplation in the aforementioned 50th anniversary special.

The Doctor, Chris and Roz arrive at the Quadrant, a troubled council block in Thatcher's Britain. There's a new drug on the streets, a drug that's killing to a plan.
