My best friend’s girl by Dorothy Koomson is not just an easy-reading type of book.
It is full of tension, passion, labyrinths of fate – and it’s full of amazingly clever ideas of forgiveness, calmness and love. I don’t just mean love between a man and a woman, but a love between mother and a child, love to life, to strangers and passers-by.
I was constantly asking myself question – am I strong enough to adopt a child of your used-to-be-friend, who betrayed me? Am I strong enough to turn my life in a different direction in a one-day term?
The main character of the novel is a single woman with her own positive and negative sides, she has her own worries and troubles, but when a child appears in her life, she has to begin a new life – to build a life where her baby would feel secure and will be able to survive through her mother’s death.
I highly recommend reading this book. It’s very soul-touching and in some way it shows that there’s nothing more important, then peace and forgiveness in a soul.
