О премии

Премия Хелен Эшер - австралийская литературная награда женщине-писательнице, чье произведение имеет антивоенную тематику.

Премия присуждалась в период с 2005 по 2017 год. Премия Ашера управлялась Австралийским обществом авторов (ASA) от имени Совета Австралии.

Награда была учреждена Советом Австралии в соответствии с завещанием писательницы Хелен Ашер (1927 - 2001), оставившей средства на организацию премии. Немецкая беженка после Второй мировой войны, Хелен была глубокой почитательницей художественной и культурной жизни Австралии. И Хелен, и ее муж Мервин активно участвовали в литературном сообществе Сиднея.

Премия присуждалась один раз в два года.

Лауреату вручалось 12 тысяч долларов.

В 2017 году закончились средства и премия прекратила существование.
