О премии

Премия «Альбертина» для детской литературы - французская литературная награда, присуждаемая детской французской литературе, которая в течение прошедшего календарного года была издана на английском языке в США и получила там признание среди юных читателей.

Премия направлена ​​на формирование любви к чтению на французском и английском языках.

Награда вручается с 2019 года отделом культуры посольства Франции в США при поддержке Kids Trail. Информационный партнер: Literary Hub. Премия была создана в дополнение к уже имеющейся Премии «Альбертина».

Книги для конкурса отбирает Комитет, в который входят сотрудники книжного магазина "Альбертина" (Albertine books) в Нью-Йорке, сети AEFE в Северной Америке, службы культуры посольства Франции в США и посольства Франции в Канаде.

Премия имеет четыре возрастные категории: 3-5 лет; 6-8 лет; 9-11 лет; и 12-14 лет. Первоначально награда имела 3 категории, последняя добавлена в 20020 году.
Каждый год одна книга номинируется во всех возрастных категориях.

Лауреата выбирают дети, голосуя за понравившиеся книги на веб-сайте "Альбертина" или во французских или государственных двуязычных школах Северной Америки.
